This seminar will explore global climate change through a Human Capabilities framework by utilizing interdisciplinary texts and media sources. Drawing on local and global perspectives and case studies, we will consider the role of individuals and communities alongside the role of activists in confronting social inequalities. We will also examine ethical and cultural issues regarding representing the voices and needs of others. Students will engage with media studies analysis and techniques to produce a digital story about a community issue related to their individual service-learning experience. Students who have taken PJHC 300 will be required to complete a modified assignment.
